Follow the procedures set out within the Quality Management SystemPerform analytical methods within the laboratory to generate accurate and reliable results for the customersBoth Microbiology & Chemistry analytical proceduresComply with EN ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation standards in accordance with proceduresPerform supporting tasks, including, but not limited to cleaning, calibrations, daily checks, sample reception, media preparationInvolvement in the development of chemistry methods, verification and validationConduct audits and investigate non-conformities that occur in the laboratory when requiredApply appropriate actionsSupport the business with chemical safety and quality issuesEscalate any discrepancies or delays in result reporting to the customers and Laboratory Processing ManagerProvide technical support to Operations, R&D, Quality and Client Liaison as requiredRaise any concerns about performance of analytical methods to the Laboratory Processing ManagerPerform and review EQA, IQA and AQC results and investigate any failuresRaise any concerns regarding the performance of the analytical methods to Laboratory Processing Manager/ Deputy Quality ManagerParticipate in Proficiency Testing SchemesParticipate in the UKAS assessment when requiredAnswering technical queries in the absence of the Laboratory Processing ManagerGenerating client sample reportsParticipate in sampling when requiredTrain other laboratory personnel in performing analytical proceduresLiaise with Deputy Quality Manager to implement procedure changes in accordance to UKAS, ISO and HTMLiaise with other relevant departments with regards to the customer samplesLiaise and work closely with external suppliers, contractors and service providersQualificationsQualification in relevant discipline of science.Previous experience working within a laboratory and understands the importance of good laboratory practicesProblem solving and troubleshooting skillsQualification in relevant discipline of science or a minimum of 5 years’ experiencePrevious experience working within a laboratory and understands the importance of good laboratory practicesProblem solving and troubleshooting skillsConfident working with a variety IT Systems for example LIMS and Microsoft OfficePrevious experience working with instruments is desirable, however not essential as all training is done in house.Previous experience working with instruments is desirable, however not essential as all training is done in house.Additional InformationBenefits
