Wood is recruiting for a senior chemist / lab expert to join its projects team in Sohar, Oman with relevant experience in petroleum refinery in handling PQC & PQA of gases, hydrocarbons, utility and environmental samples by sophisticated analytical techniques and complex analysers. The candidate should be well familiar with ASTM/UOP/APHA/SMS/IP testing methods and have the capability to deliver the requirements below.

Senior chemist / lab expert will be responsible for: Identifying and recommending online analysers that can measure in real time critical quality properties dependable enough to reduce sampling and laboratory testing. Providing specialized analytical solutions to upgrade the laboratory's capability to measure asset integrity related parameters critical to plant reliability improvement. Upgrading the laboratory visual dashboard to include critical tracking data related to IOW/POW, relevant KPI associated with asset reliability and asset management. Providing technical support and interpretation including hands-on for studies and test runs related to CDU, Merox, RFCC revamp projects for maximization of process units output. Providing analytical techniques and data interpretation of flare gases and environmental samples. Interpreting complex and specialized data analysis to advise PES and operations in process troubleshooting. Working closely with other departments within the refinery, such as engineering or production, to troubleshoot problems or identify opportunities for process improvement. Providing inputs to lab management for OPEX and CAPEX optimizations and lab equipment reliability index and backup methods creation in support of test runs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemistry. Minimum 8 years of experience. Experience in petroleum refinery. About the Company
