Senior Certified Surgical Tech

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.

Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.

Adheres to established Hospital/departmental policies and procedures, objectives, Quality Assessment and Improvement Program, Infection Assessment and Improvement Program, legal, safety, environment control standards and Patient's Bill of Rights.Identifies and prepares appropriate instrumentation, supplies and equipment based on identified surgical procedures and respects time out and sponge accounting standards.Demonstrates responsibility in following the doctor's preference card (DCP) and utilizing materials and supplies accordingly with minimal of waste.Uses surgical conscience to deliver care respecting universal precautions.Works with the surgical team during operating procedures within scope of practice and adheres to principles of aseptic technique and monitors others.Ensures all instruments, equipment and supplies are accounted for after each case; removes equipment requiring repair from service and tags and submits to front desk for bio med and/or to SPD supervisor.
Job Requirements

Required

High School Graduate or GEDSuccessful completion of an accredited/approved Surgical Technician programMinimum 5 years of operating room experience in an acute care settingAt least three (3) years in an area of specialty Must be able to scrub Neuro, Vascular, Ortho, and Spine cases Certified Surgical Technologist or Technologist in Surgery certification AHA Basic Life Support - CPRFire Safety card, within 90 Days
