Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Senior CEQA/NEPA Manager for one of our offices in Sacramento, CA. This job is open to remote work.
JOB SUMMARY
This role provides critical oversight and coordination of environmental processes to ensure timely delivery of project clearances. This role supports the development, review, and quality control of CEQA/NEPA documents, while guiding teams and consultants to maintain compliance with regulatory standards. It also involves coordinating with technical disciplines, agencies, and stakeholders to align environmental deliverables with project schedules. This position is essential to keeping environmental approvals on track and aligned with broader project goals.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The Senior CEQA/NEPA manager provides review and management support for the Authority’s environmental processes, documents, and permits, facilitating delivery of the organization’s environmental program. Regular duties include:
Coordinates to manage the environmental component of projects program wide, providing guidance, recommendations, document review, and schedule maintenance for all environmental clearance documents and processesEnsures timely and quality preparation of NEPA/CEQA environmental documentsAttends weekly team meetings with various disciplinesAssists in monitoring project scope, schedule, and budgetProvides direction to regional consultants regarding Authority standards, quality, and expectationsVerifies document content conforms with Authority standards, procedures, and methodologiesRepresents Authority environmental planning and NEPA/CEQA compliance needsGathers, guides, and processes data and information generated by engineering, design, and operational, and other technical experts for use in environmental documentsProvides other duties as requestedAttends agency and stakeholder meetingsSchedules and/or attends meetings with agencies for consultation purposesAttends stakeholder working group, open house, public hearings, or other outreach activitiesTracks environmental schedule and deliverables against the adopted Authority environmental milestone schedule and prepares monthly progress reports on activitiesQualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
10 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, environmental sciences, or a closely related fieldGraduate degree in environmental planning, environmental science, or a closely related field is a plus.Knowledge of federal (NEPA) and state (CEQA) environmental law and processes as well as other relevant state and federal laws and regulationsWorking understanding of fundamental project management concepts (e.g., scope, schedule, budget)Ability to analyze and review documents for consistency, clarity, and content and be able to present complex technical information in an easily understandable format and contextExperience with highspeed intercity passenger rail, transit planning, or linear infrastructure projectsAdditional InformationThis job is open to remote workSponsorship is provided for this roleAbout AECOM
