A leading logistics and supply chain organisation is seeking a proactive and driven Senior Category Buyer to support the Procurement Manager in delivering a strategic, cost-effective procurement service across a broad portfolio of clients and sites for a contract period of 5 months
This is a key opportunity to play an active role in sourcing, contract management, and supplier performance-ensuring value for money and supporting operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the delivery and implementation of commercial sourcing strategies for GNFR (Goods Not For Resale) spend.Lead sourcing activities when required, ensuring compliance and due diligence.Review, negotiate, and manage contract terms through to approval and sign-off.Collaborate with stakeholders on supplier performance reviews to drive improvement.Use cost evaluation tools to support finance and inform procurement decisions.Provide input and advice on supplier disputes and resolution strategies.Lead and support procurement change initiatives aligned with continuous improvement principles.Deputise for the Procurement Manager when required.Ideal Candidate Profile:
Solid experience in procurement, especially with GNFR or indirect spend.Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.Good knowledge of commercial contracts and compliance processes.Analytical approach with financial awareness and cost modelling experience.Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders across various levels.Experience with change management and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.Well-organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.Brook Street NMR is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
