What you’ll be doing
The role of this position focuses primarily on the daily management of CAD central bank, global foreign and USD correspondent accounts, including World Markets Inc. (Broker Dealer) Cash Management. Additionally, this role is accountable for originating and managing CAD short and intermediate term funding, as well as various responsibilities the are under the auspices of Funding and Liquidity Management Canada (FLM).

How you’ll succeed
Business Management- Effective and efficient management of CIBC’s foreign correspondent nostro accounts to minimize costs and maximize revenues. Proactively invest cash positions with correspondent banks as well as respective FLM desks. Monitor CLS positions against established limits. Advise management of any violations and ensure adequate liquidity is available to satisfy settlement. Communicate large potential positions with correspondent banks. Trade Inside CLS positions in the Semaphore market to manage liquidity risk and reduce settlement costs.Stakeholder Management- Maintain good working relationships with CIBC’s correspondent banks globally ensuring efficient account information flow - often required to make time sensitive funding decisions which could potentially bear interest costs or reputational risk to CIBC. Assist with the forecasting, monitoring, and funding of the USD IMM Canada book, funding of USD nostro correspondents and the completion of detailed funding, variance, and liquidity reporting. Assist all TCIM and CAD FLM desks, acting in a swing capacity while understanding all aspects of the business, available as a backup to traders as required. Participate in the management, monitoring and reporting of intraday liquidity. Support senior TCIM staff in the development and execution of intraday liquidity reporting mechanics in response to regulatory requirements. • Participate in industry committee work – CLS, TMX, Payments Canada – supporting senior TCIM committee membersDaily Tasks- Execute daily funding tickets, provide timely reporting to Risk management on deposit excesses and analyze daily currency sources and uses of funds to provide a complete currency position profile to management. Manage cash flows against main funding accounts within currencies and coordinate end-of-day positions with appropriate FLM funding desks to ensure cost effective funding of residual balances. Operate numerous proprietary applications to forecast, manage and reconcile foreign currency nostro related balance activity.Who you are
You are designated. University degree in Business/Finance or equivalent experience. Canadian Securities Course required. CFA candidacy preferredYou can demonstrate experience. Solid understanding of global financial markets with experience in CAD short and intermediate term funding markets. Strong knowledge of cash management principles and practices, correspondent banking arrangements andservices. Strong understanding of payments and settlement systems, associated risk models, use of funds concepts and compensation practicesStrong Communication Skills. Excellent communication skills, ability to build and maintain internal and external relationshipsYou are analytical. Extensive systems applications knowledge with a focus on MS Office Suite, (i.e. Excel, VBA) Strong forecasting and analytical skills, ability to work under pressure due to time constraints and high volumesYou can multitask. Ability to multitask and make time sensitive decisions around very large dollar value cash positions and transactionsYou're passionate about people.
