Chemours is seeking a Senior Buyer - North America to join our growing Procurement team. This position will be available at our Wilmington, DE (hybrid) and reports directly to the Senior Category Manager.

A senior buyer position involves sourcing, selecting, and purchasing goods or services by researching potential suppliers, negotiating prices, ensuring quality standards. Buyer's goal is to acquire needed materials/services at the most competitive price while maintaining vendor relationships. Buyers provide input into to the development of strategic sourcing and logistics planning. this role collects, analyzes, summarizes, organize and audit data in support of managing the spend, ensuring sourcing process compliance, allocating the supply base, developing plans for procurement, managing transportation, and expediting or troubleshooting delivery of quality materials and services. May resolve supply or system/process problems. May ensure alignment with relevant site and/or supplier compliance related to specific aspects of contracts, sourcing and logistics systems/processes, including government regulations, safety, quality, pricing and service delivery. Attends to country and site needs for buyers with focus on specific geographic external spend. The role is responsible for preparing, negotiating, managing and coordinating agreements supporting the procurement of assigned materials or services. Evaluates and selects suppliers in terms of quality, service, cost and capability and responsible for developing procurement strategies in conjunction with the businesses or commodity teams. Ensures competitive pricing service versus industry trends and marketplace dynamics. Resolves quality, service, supply and invoicing issues with suppliers. Identifies and drives continuous improvement. Oversees contract implementation and supplier performance/interaction; involved with resolving operational issues.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Market Research: Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer demand to identify potential products /services and suppliers. Understands supply market – production routes, supplier share, market price, alternatives.

Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.

Understanding and aligning with the goals and requirements of the stakeholders and sharing progress and results of dashboards, metrics, KPI’s and benchmarks.

Product selection: Evaluate quality of materials or services against required specification to optimize cost.

Identifying and mitigating supply risk, especially on single and sole sourced materials, critical path supplies and services and helping monitor/manage related site inventory of critical items. Proactively develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies for key materials.

Collaborating with category managers and subject matter experts to understand and disseminate commodity strategies, facilitate the rollout of corporate category initiatives geared to bring value and assisting on the introduction and/or exit strategies of new corporate suppliers.

Be the procurement conduit for sharing relevant information to stakeholders. Help with the rollout, training, and/or adoption of new procurement tools, policies & procedures.

Pricing negotiations to achieve best possible TCO pricing while maintaining set quality standards. Negotiates, prepares and executes procurement agreements

Contract management : Review and manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions, drive value on new and existing contracts.

Facilitate new supplier introductions; Manage, consolidate, and drive lower tail spend where feasible.

Drive cost savings/avoidance through collaborative efforts with suppliers, internal customers and procurement category managers.

Utilize data analytics to identify purchasing trends and inform decision-makers.

Develop, collaborate and execute procurement strategies, global category strategy, and supplier strategies.

Strategic thought partner that fosters strong cross-functional engagement and working partnerships to enable strategic planning

and forecasting.

Understands customer requirements such as volume, price, quality, delivery mode, supply risk and supply chain impacts

Executes requests for proposals and competitive bids

Conducts negotiations, documents agreements in contract terms and conditions, conducts contract legal and financial reviews, obtains internal approvals, implements contracts, reviews contract/supplier performance after implementation. Authors Contracts with Firm KPIs that enhance Compliance.

The following is required for this role:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration or 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree

5 years of professional experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Business, or Operations, preferably in the Chemical Industry

Experience developing, socializing, and executing sourcing strategies with clear goals and priorities.

Experience in strategic sourcing methodologies and implementation

Proven negotiating and contract authoring experience.

Demonstrated Strategic business and financial acumen.

Ability to work in Ariba and SAP or alternate ERP systems

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and PowerBI.

The following is preferred for this role:

Strong Procurement Leadership background with 8+ years leading Procurement Projects.

Chemistry or Chemical Engineering background

Procurement or Supply Chain certification

Six Sigma Greenbelt+ Certification(s)

$93,184.00 - $145,600.00
