Senior Buyer
Description ALM Positioners is seeking a results-driven Senior Buyer to lead procurement of metal fabrication components and electronic assemblies supporting our custom welding positioners, robotic weld cells, and automation systems. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers of: • Structural steel, plate, tubing, and machined components • Precision fabricated weldments and machined assemblies • Motors, drives, gearboxes, and power transmission components • PLCs, HMIs, sensors, cabling, and electrical panels • Automation and motion control components The Senior Buyer plays a critical role in ensuring on-time delivery, cost control, quality performance, and supply continuity aligned with ALM’s Factory of the Future strategy. Skills supply chain, planner, purchasing Top Skills Details supply chain,planner,purchasing Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field 5–10+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing or capital equipment Strong knowledge of: o Metal fabrication processes (laser cutting, machining, welding, forming) o Industrial electronics and automation components • Demonstrated negotiation and supplier management experience • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs • ERP experience (M1, NetSuite, or similar preferred) Experience Level Expert Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rock Island, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $45.67/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
