Job Description
The role requires purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies, as well as contracting for services under the best possible terms in accordance with company policy. The position involves reviewing and analyzing purchase requisitions, investigating and developing sources of supplies, issuing bid requests, and reviewing quotations.
ResponsibilitiesIdentify sources of commodities and services.Evaluate bids and award contracts.Develop standards for new products or services.Maintain contact with vendors.Maintain product descriptions and current prices.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry within a similar role.3+ years of experience researching potential vendors and products to identify cost-effective solutions.3+ years of experience preparing and reviewing purchase orders, invoices, and other documents.3+ years of experience developing and implementing purchasing strategies to optimize cost savings, quality, and delivery of supplies and equipment.3+ years of experience negotiating contracts with suppliers to ensure the best pricing and terms.Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of SAP/Ariba is preferred.Skills in planning, purchasing, procurement, purchase order, supply chain, production planning, SAP, ERP, inventory, buying purchasing, schedule planning.Negotiation and purchasing experience.Work Environment
The position is located in Trainer, Pennsylvania. It offers a competitive pay rate, which is negotiable based on prior experience relating to the role. The role is initially offered as a 9-month contract-to-hire position with potential for permanent employment, which includes benefits such as a 401K matching plan, advancement opportunities, and medical/dental benefits available from the first day of employment.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
