Senior Buyer – Power & Grid

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Senior Buyer – Power & Grid to join our Procurement team. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will play a key role in developing and executing category strategies, driving supplier performance, and delivering cost-effective, high-quality supply chain solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a fast-paced, forward-thinking business, acting as a trusted commercial partner to both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support strategic procurement activities, including supplier negotiations and contract management.

Identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities and explore new supply sources.

Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business needs.

Manage supplier performance to ensure quality, value, and compliance.

Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders (Procurement, Finance, Project Leads, Audit, Business Partners).

Implement and maintain effective supplier management programmes.

Represent the company in interactions with third-party suppliers and industry groups.

Person Specification

3–5 years' procurement experience, ideally within Power, Energy, or Utilities.

Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Proven ability to resolve conflicts and build long-term supplier partnerships.

Excellent analytical, organisational, and commercial acumen.

CIPS qualification preferred.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.
