Senior Business Systems Analyst

      

The Senior Business Systems Analyst supports core finance and treasury operations and financial planning & analysis (FP&A) functions. This role is a part of the Financial Management Services Product Team within a product-centric delivery model focusing on iterative improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and long-term value delivery.

The Senior Business Systems Analyst works closely with finance leaders, financial analysts, product managers, engineers, and data teams to shape and support systems including ERP, Treasury, and forecasting & planning platforms. This role is a key player in delivering technological solutions that enable smarter decisions, better financial visibility, and operational efficiency.

         

          

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as the functional lead for finance systems and forecasting & planning platforms, supporting enhancements, upgrades, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with finance, accounting, treasury, and financial planning & analysis stakeholders to elicit and refine business needs across both operational and strategic planning processes.Partner with Product Owners and Product Managers to define the product roadmap, manage feature prioritization, and drive quarterly planning for finance and forecasting & planning tools.Translate business requirements into user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria, with a focus on both short-term wins and long-term scalability.Support solution design for ERP systems (e.g., Peoplesoft, Oracle, SAP, etc.) and enterprise forecasting & planning platforms (e.g., Planful, Anaplan, OneStream, etc.).Advance integrated planning initiatives by leading and contributing to financial forecasting model changes, scenario planning capabilities, and forecasting workflows.Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate stakeholder training for newly released features or workflows.Analyze, track, and report on key product and platform KPIs, including system adoption, process efficiency, and forecast accuracy.Continuously assess system performance, integration needs, and change impacts to ensure alignment with finance transformation goals.Mentor junior analysts and contribute to best practices for finance systems support within an agile product model.


Required Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, management information systems, or equivalent.6-8+ years of experience in the Business System Analyst field, with a focus on accounting, finance and planning systemsTechnical expertise and advanced understanding across finance, accounting, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A)Deep knowledge of finance processes (GL, close, reporting) and financial planning & analysis workflowsStrong experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, Oracle Cloud, SAP, or similar.Hands-on experience with at least one financial planning & analysis tool such as Planful, Anaplan, OneStream, or similarExperience working in Agile product teams (Scrum, SAFe) with backlog management, user stories, and sprint planningStrong documentation and analysis skills, including use tools including Jira, Confluence, and Visio and similarStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teamsAnalytical mindset with experience in data modeling, reporting, and process optimization.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $88,132.00 - $119,236.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
