We’re looking for a Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence, based in Edmonton, with deep expertise in BI development and visualization. Someone who can partner with business and operational leaders to design dashboards, scorecards, and analytical tools that bring clarity to complex information. If you’re passionate about data design, storytelling, and mentoring others to raise the bar, this role is for you.

Who You Are

You don’t just build reports—you create stories that help people understand and act.You’re fluent in Power BI (including DAX and data modeling) and strong in SQL; exposure to Python is a plus.You can design data models that work at both detail and executive levels.You collaborate naturally with data engineering teams (DET), BI architects, and business SMEs.You’re skilled at gathering requirements and translating them into technical design.You’re comfortable balancing priorities and delivering high-quality outputs under tight timelines.You enjoy mentoring and guiding others in BI best practices.
 

How You’ll Make an Impact

Report to the Agile Team Lead, Analytics & Business Intelligence.Lead the development of BI reports and visualizations in Power BI and other BI tools based on stakeholder requirements.Build and maintain data models that integrate Snowflake, D3, and other enterprise sources.Write efficient DAX and SQL to create measures, KPIs, and business-ready insights.Partner with DET, BIA, and business stakeholders to align data solutions with real-world needs.Support governance by promoting certified datasets and following QA/release processes.Troubleshoot incidents, respond to stakeholder feedback, and ensure production deliverables are accurate and timely.Mentor analysts and business power users in BI design, data modeling, and visualization standards.Contribute to AMA’s quarterly board reporting and annual strategic planning with trusted measures.
 

What You Bring to the Table

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or equivalent experience.5+ years in BI/reporting, with strong hands-on experience in Power BI (including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling).Strong SQL skills and ability to work with enterprise data warehouses (Snowflake preferred).Experience with scripting or data prep in Python is an asset.Proven ability to consult with stakeholders, define requirements, and translate them into BI solutions.Demonstrated experience collaborating with data engineering teams and BI architects.Strong communication and presentation skills, especially with executives.Agile/Scrum experience is an asset.
