Job DescriptionJob Summary
The Business Development Specialist will drive strategic growth for AECOM India across Buildings and Industrial sectors with a core focus on Advanced Manufacturing, Semiconductor and Data Center projects. The role is responsible for pipeline generation, account-based pursuits, end-to-end bid management, and market intelligence—partnering closely with Sector Leads, Design/Delivery teams, and Global Business Lines to convert qualified opportunities into profitable wins.
Responsibilities:
Own and exceed annual BD targets for qualified pipeline, proposal wins, bookings and GP—aligned to sector growth plans.Develop and execute account plans for priority clients (owners, developers, EPCs, hyperscalers, OEMs) in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing and data center ecosystems.Map buying centers and key stakeholders; build trusted relationships through regular CxO/Director-level engagements and thought leadership.Lead opportunity qualification (Go/No-Go), capture strategy, win themes, and value proposition; orchestrate bid/no-bid reviews with leadership.Manage end-to-end proposal process—RFI/RFP response, pricing coordination, risk reviews, commercial terms, and governance compliance.Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams (Architecture, MEP, Process, PM/CM, QS, Sustainability, Digital) to craft integrated, differentiating solutions.Maintain accurate CRM hygiene (stage, probability, value, close date) and report weekly on pipeline, pursuits, and conversion metrics.Generate market and competitor intelligence—track capex programs, greenfield/brownfield expansions, fab/OSAT announcements, and hyperscale DC rollouts.Support partnerships with EPCs, technology vendors, and local partners; evaluate JV/teaming opportunities to strengthen offerings.Drive client presentations, capability briefs, case studies, and bid collateral; ensure content is sector-specific and outcomes-focused.Negotiate commercial terms with guidance from Legal/Finance; ensure risk management, margins, and payment terms are safeguarded.Champion AECOM differentiators—technical excellence, global delivery, sustainability, digital engineering (BIM/VDC), and health & safety.Ensure handover to delivery teams post-award with clear scope, assumptions, risks, and client expectations; stay engaged to nurture account growth.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Business; MBA preferred.10–12 years of progressive BD/sales experience in EPC/Consulting/Design/PM firms; at least 5 years in Buildings/Industrial sectors.Demonstrated wins in semiconductor fabs/OSAT, advanced manufacturing plants, or hyperscale/colocation data centers.Strong understanding of project delivery models (Design, EPC, PMC), commercial structures (Lump Sum, Unit Rates, Reimbursable), and risk frameworks.Hands-on proposal leadership—RFI/RFP, pricing, and negotiation—with track record of meeting bookings and margin targets.Comfort engaging senior clients; ability to articulate complex technical offerings as business outcomes.Additional InformationWith infrastructure investment accelerating worldwide, our services are in great demand, and there’s never been a better time to be at AECOM!
