As the Senior Learning & Development Business Analyst within the UnitedHealth Group (UHG) Corporate Services' Value Enablement team, you will be responsible for supporting Learning & Development (L&D) operations with a variety of learning analytics and automation solutions. Conducting and managing outcomes that include analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending, and presenting information for business planning. Recommending process improvements by managing documented standard operating procedures.
This role offers a great opportunity to work on a wide variety of learning innovations, partnering with business leaders, UHG Corporate L&D and technology teams to improve business processes and gather and report on learning utilization and effectiveness. Providing timely support for customers and monitoring the L&D central email.
The Value Enablement shared services team consists of ~15 employees supporting the learning & development, training, communications, project management, and change management needs of UHG Corporate Services. Corporate Services comprises ~500 employees who deliver great customer service by providing expertise and enterprise leverage in real estate, procurement, environmental, occupational health, and safety for our 400k internal customers across UHG, UnitedHealthcare, and Optum.
Primary Responsibilities:
Gather data business requirements, including key L&D analytics, industry metrics, and benchmarksBe able to understand the difference between business requirements and technical solutionsAssesses and interprets customer needs and requirementsDesign, develop and distribute L&D metrics reporting and visualization, leveraging business intelligence reportingDesign, develop and distribute business learning reporting and visualization, leveraging business intelligence reportingManage learner groups or analysis, and assignment of Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety (EOHS) regulatory training in coordination with business partners or training leads, leveraging business intelligence reportingSupport EOHS team with future innovations of the learning enrollment process to reduce friction and improve accuracyEnsure all business processes are documented, uniform, and securely storedRecommend process improvements for improved efficiencies, removing waste, saving time, and reducing frictionSolves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analysesTranslates concepts into practiceIdentify capability gaps between current state and desired stateIdentify the business impact of system or application changes, using appropriate tools as neededIdentifies solutions to non-standard requests and problemsConduct and/or support testing activities as appropriateValidate usability of technical solutions prior to deploymentMonitor L&D central email and respond within stated Service Level Agreement, directing to other parties based upon their specialization, and escalating as neededMaintain awareness of best practices or approaches related to the business analysis disciplineMaintain awareness of best practices or approaches related to quality and productivityComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Bachelor's degree, and 8+ years of experience in business analysis, including working with internal business partners and technology leadsExperience in complex problem solving and process improvement, analyzing and recommending solutionsExperience with Microsoft Power BI business intelligence reporting and SmartsheetSolid knowledge of latest innovations and emerging trends in leveraging data and providing predictive and prescriptive learning analyticsProficiency with Access databasesProficiency in learning management platforms (e.g., EdCast, Oracle Learning Cloud)Proficiency in Office 365 Suite of Tools (MS Teams and Apps, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, etc.)Proficiency in digital learning platforms, talent analytics tools, and change management best practicesProven superior analytical thinking skillsProven solid relationship-building, accountability, and critical thinking skillsProven effective in collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver next-in-class analytics solutionsProven solid motivation to learn and share knowledge, advocacy for building a learning cultureProven solid time and project management, organizational and prioritization management skills with attention to detailProven excellent collaboration, emotional intelligence, networking, and communication (written and oral) skills, and ability to balance multiple prioritiesProven ability to influence without authority, resilient, build relationships, and work effectively in a large matrix environment
