Discover what you can do. **Your role and responsibilities** Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with deep expertise in Energy & Utilities, particularly in Distribution System Operator (DSO) environments and energy-transition programs. This role focuses on business process design and system integration, translating regulatory, operational, and market needs into clear, integrated requirements across OT, IT, and data platforms. You will work directly with clients, lead workshops, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define end-to-end processes and integration requirements for DERMS, ADMS, and flexibility services. This is an exciting opportunity to influence large-scale transformation initiatives in the energy sector. What This Role Offers * Direct Client Engagement: Conduct workshops, interviews, and Agile ceremonies with senior stakeholders. * Energy Transition Leadership: Shape solutions for DER integration, flexibility markets, and dynamic connections. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with architects, integration teams, and delivery squads on complex OT/IT ecosystems. * Innovation & Impact: Drive digital transformation in the utilities sector, influencing sustainability and grid modernization. * Global IBM Network: Access IBM’s global expertise, methodologies, and cutting-edge technologies. Key Responsibilities * Lead requirements definition for DSO, DERMS, dynamic connections, and flexibility services. * Define end-to-end business processes and system integrations across network, market, and enterprise platforms. * Translate business outcomes into epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Agile delivery. * Facilitate cross-functional workshops and ensure traceability across business outcomes and delivered capabilities. * Identify integration risks, dependencies, and non-functional requirements (performance, security, resilience). * Support business cases, delivery governance, and change impact assessments. * Collaborate with solution architects on interface, data, and event-based requirements. * Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives. * Communicate complex technical concepts in simple terms to non-technical stakeholders. Why Join IBM? * Be part of a global leader driving innovation in energy transition. * Work on high-impact projects shaping the future of utilities. * Access world-class training, career growth, and IBM’s global network. **Required technical and professional expertise** Must-Have Skills & Experience * 8+ years defining software requirements for complex products in Agile environments. * 5+ years working with Agile practices, including writing epics and user stories. * 5+ years in Energy & Utilities, OT & IT Systems focusing on SCADA/ADMS, Asset Management, and Field Mobility solutions. * Expertise in business process modeling (BPMN, UML) and tools like Visio or Aris. * Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. * Sound understanding of package implementation methodologies. * Ability to analyse and undertake risk assessment and mitigation treatments for complex changes. * Proficiency in Requirements Management and Storyboard tools for execution and collaboration. * Australian PR or Citizenship required. **Preferred technical and professional experience** Nice-to-Have Skills * Experience with energy-transition initiatives (DERMS, ADMS, DSO platforms). * Familiarity with DER integration (solar, batteries, EVs) and aggregator models. * Exposure to flexibility markets and network support services. * Consulting or large-scale transformation experience. * Knowledge of hybrid delivery models and onshore/offshore collaboration.
