Circle K Energy Trading SA (CKETS) is part of the Global Fuel organization Team and responsible for the entire Fuel Supply of our European Retail entities as well as the Fuel Trading activities. Fuels in Europe are constantly transitioning to be more sustainable, which reflects the changes in regulations and market demands. Renewable Energy Directive (REDII and REDIII) sets specific binding target for the EU to achieve share of renewable energy in its final energy consumption by 2030. It is of crucial importance that Circle-K, all along the supply chain, can secure Fuel Sustainability mass-balancing and maintain Proof of Sustainability of biodiesel, bioethanol, renewable feedstock, or advanced biofuels to grow the business while complying with EU requirements.

This role will be critical in the rollout ongoing within CKETS to develop a centralized Fuel Sustainability Model, supporting CKETS Trading Team in Geneva from the Circle K Business Center in Riga.

Senior Biofuels Controller in Bio Compliance Team

Type of Employment: Temporary position for 1,5 years
Location: Circle K Business Centre, Riga, Latvia

Get knowledge and build your understanding of Biofuel industry and RED (Renewable Energy Directive) targets and EU climate change requirements.

Get knowledge and complete Biofuel reporting set by National regulatory authorities or Biofuel mandate frameworks.

Main Responsibilities:

Work hand to hand with our Biofuel Trader to compile and submit reports on Biofuel mandate compliance to Government and regulatory authorities.

Monitor and maintain records of Biofuel volumes throughout the supply and distribution chain via the new Circle K Biofuel Trading Model.

Maintain Biofuel mass balance under the RED (Renewable Energy Directive) and ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) for Circle K terminals

Work with the different internal stakeholder Trading, Supply, Logistics, Sustainability, local Business Unit to help improve data accuracy and processes for Biofuel tracking and reporting.

Prepare documentation to support internal and external Audits related to Biofuel operations, mass balance, and sustainability reporting ensuring any findings are resolved quickly.

Participate in operational projects, process improvements, and system testing for the new Circle-K Biofuel mass-balance digital tool.

Main requirements:

Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Management, or related field.

Data reporting and analysis skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Planning & Reporting tools (Power BI) is necessary.

Knowledge of coding, Business Intelligence, IT skills, would be a plus.

Knowledge in GHG reporting and RED compliance or Biofuel Trading would be considered as a serious advantage. Additional Training can be provided.

Knowledge of Accounting/Trading system is an advantage, previous role in Accounting can be considered.

Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate to technical and nontechnical audiences.
