Senior Benefits Analyst

Our extraordinary team offers innovative, quality services and support that lead to growth and new opportunities for the people we serve and for our employees. **SUMMARY** Under the general supervision of the Benefits Manager or Sr. Manager, the Benefits Analyst works with team to align and drive key benefit strategies, initiatives, and programs. The analyst provides professional level analysis and administration of all health, welfare and ancillary benefit plans and programs, handles complex benefits issues and works directly with vendors to solve issues, participates in the investigation of new benefits, supports the delivery and communication of benefits programs, assists in ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations; and supports departmental projects and initiatives. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** _To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:_ + Researches, interprets and analyzes information and formulate recommendations for management; analyze, interpret, and apply established law, regulations, policies, procedures, precedents, and guidelines + Synthesizes large amounts of data and identify key trends; prepare clear, technically sound, accurate, and informative reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations + Assists with compliance under Health Care Reform (ACA), ERISA, COBRA, SOX and other benefit related policies and statutes, including annual discrimination testing and 5500 preparation, files required for State and Federal reports. + Coordinates with vendors on employee benefit transactions and appeals, carrier file exchanges, accessing reports, ad hoc reporting and customer service issues + Coordinates the design and communication of annual benefit enrollment materials and helps put together company-wide communications pertaining to Benefits + Participates, as needed, in the implementation of benefits for mergers and acquisitions + Participates in the annual renewal process, including coordinating with vendors on data collection and project implementation; works closely with all parties to ensure accuracy and sign-off + Support ad-hoc benefits projects, including new vendor implementations and policy roll-outs + Conducts research and analysis as needed. + Provides recommendations to improve processes + Documents and keeps up-to-date administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes + Performs other related duties and activities as required. **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES** None required. **Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job** _The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:_ **_Education and Experience:_** + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or Finance + Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Benefits or Human Resources **_Certificates:_** + PHR or CEBS certification a plus but not required. **_Other Skills and Abilities:_** + Highly detail oriented, results oriented and organized + Strong analytical skills, to make inferences about data that will help decision makers + Exceptional Microsoft Office Skills + Excellent communication skills; able to respond and exchange ideas clearly and effectively through writing, speaking, and presentations; Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. + Ability to speak and present effectively to groups of stakeholders, management and coworkers. + Strong work ethic: ability to multitask and results oriented. + Strong project management skills, keeping projects moving amidst shifting priorities + Ability to understand documents from legal, governmental and industry related sources. Apply data gathered to internal processes.
