Essential Function
Lead mechanical design efforts for automation projects, including robotics cell design, sensor and motor placement, and component integration Develop and optimize designs focused on manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance enhancement Utilize advanced SolidWorks skills to create detailed assemblies and 3D models aligned with manufacturing requirements Apply FEA simulation to validate mechanical designs and ensure robustness and reliability Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) and related documentation to support procurement and production Conduct safety system implementation and verification, ensuring compliance with ISO 12100, ANSI B11, and ISO 13849 standards Use robotics simulation tools such as RoboGuide or equivalent, and FlexSim for layout and performance modeling Employ Matlab or equivalent software for analysis and optimization of control systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers to ensure design integration and project success Manage project timelines and deliverables within a $3MM scope, ensuring adherence to budget and quality standards Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives supporting production efficiency
