You’ll provide an independent opinion on the design and effectiveness of operational and management controls in accordance with industry best practices and develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners. **KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES** **Audit Assignments** + Identify and fully understand the key business processes, their inherent risk, and the control environment. + Scope and plan risk based audits, assess relevant processes and controls, and provide an independent opinion on their design and operating effectiveness. **Audit Reporting** + Identify business control weaknesses, and objectively assess the severity and materiality of the issues and their potential impact on the business. + Work with business management to develop action plans based on provide realistic and workable solutions, to mitigate the risk and exposure in the long term. **Continuous Improvement** + Provide effective and timely communication on risks and issues with influence and judgment to create positive outcomes. + Foster positive team environment that looks for ways to enhance audit guidelines and practice development and to improve efficiency and audit experience. + Play advisory role in matters related to risk assessment and controls. **CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS** This role will rely on strong cross-functional relationships across the organization. These relationships ensure that audits are comprehensive, relevant, and actionable. **COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES** + As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls. **AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS** + As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. **KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS** + In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Capital Markets related businesses, products, risks, processes and controls. + Minimum 5 years proven and progressive experience in Audit, Capital Markets, product Control , or other Equivalent Experience. + Professional designation/certification such as CPA , CFA, FRM, CIA or equivalent would be an asset. + Experience in Private Credit, Collateral Financing, Prime Brokerage, and other similar areas. + Relationship building. **WORKING CONDITIONS** ·This role operates within a normal office environment. + At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role.
