**Job Summary**
Responsible for working closely with category management team and have the primary responsibility for the development and maintenance of product assortments. The Senior Analyst will strategically select, manage, and analyze product offerings to ensure alignment with Category and Company objectives. Contributes in the evaluation, design development, and implementation of standardized assortments, reporting, business processes, and information systems solutions.
**Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities**
+ Leads execution of detailed assortment plans, business reviews, and product line reviews. Works with merchants to determine needs by category.
+ Collaborates with various departments and functions, including but not limited to, purchasing, transportation, marketing, pricing, and cost teams.
+ Provides analysis on a standard set of analytics that provide actionable insights on assortment opportunities and the go-forward strategy for a category.
+ Conducts comprehensive financial analysis to identify cost impact in various scenarios.
+ Plans and leads all phases of a project’s life cycle (i.e. feasibility, design implementation, evaluation); this includes extracting the business need; defining the business requirements, understanding the impact on the business, and designing and carrying out the project(s).
+ Mentors other analysts in developing/honing business knowledge and analytical skills.
+ Services as a subject matter expert conducting research and analysis within assigned projects, as well as establishing and reporting on metrics to assess the business value of these projects.
+ Works on 2 to 4 projects simultaneously, recommending process improvements and making final project recommendations that impact the business.
**Nature and Scope**
+ Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
+ Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
+ May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.
**Work Environment**
+ Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
+ Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
+ Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
**Education and Experience**
+ Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

+ Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
+ Good communication skills (written and verbal).
+ Ability to make informed decisions and drive effective results with ambiguous information.
+ Proficiency in excel and data analysis tools.
+ Financial modeling and forecasting experience.
