Senior Associate Director of Student Employment and Personnel Management

The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking to hire a Senior Associate Director of Student Employment and Personnel Management to join the Office of Student Financial Services.
This position is responsible for comprehensive financial aid management for an assigned caseload of students, which includes determining aid eligibility through the review of application materials and ISIRs, managing verification processes, and ensuring compliance by making necessary adjustments based on enrollment changes and federal updates. The role also oversees student employment and Federal Work-Study programs, coordinating off-campus placements and ensuring accurate payroll processing while providing training and support to both students and staff. Additionally, the position leads the administration of specialized financial aid initiatives, such as the Prison Education Program, by managing Title IV eligibility and outreach for incarcerated students. It further directs overall student services and office management functions by supervising staff, fostering interdepartmental collaboration, and promoting continuous process improvements that support regulatory compliance and enhance customer service.
Due to the nature of this position, work beyond regular hours (Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm) may be necessary. This could include evenings and weekends.

Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the salary range for this full-time, on-campus, non-represented position is $75,000-$90,000 and will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion, plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Required Qualifications:
+ Typically has the education associated with a Master’s degree and at least 7 years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of academic and directly related professional work experience.
+ Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
+ Demonstrated excellent organizational skills to organize and administer programs in a highly computerized environment.
+ Strong attention to detail and aptitude to handle multiple tasks.
+ Capacity to work independently and as a member of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Previous financial aid experience.
+ Previous experience with PeopleSoft or other enterprise-wide database systems for higher education.
