Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Associate Director for Private Equity Fund Accounting who will play a critical role in managing a team of fund accountants. This position involves overseeing client deliverables such as NAV production, financial statements, and associated reports. You will collaborate with investment managers, brokers, and auditors to address daily operational issues, and ensure all processes adhere to operational controls.
ResponsibilitiesManage a team of fund accountants responsible for client deliverables such as NAV production, financial statements, and associated reports.Ensure the team is trained, engaged, and efficient in achieving organizational goals.Partner with investment managers, brokers, and auditors for daily operational issues.Collaborate with teams like Investor Operations, finance, regulatory reporting, and banking to ensure all deliverables are met.Participate in multiple system improvement projects and identify efficiency improvements.Ensure the accuracy of client deliverables prepared by the team while observing service level agreement timelines.Maintain responsibility for the audit process, prepare financial statements, or review such if prepared by other parties.Ensure all processes are performed following operational controls as stipulated in SOC1 and complete relevant checklists.Ensure all fees are billed on time and collected promptly for the assigned team.Participate in different system projects and contribute to idea generation for future process or technological improvements.Perform any other ad-hoc tasks as needed by clients, the organization, or team members.Essential Skills4+ years of experience in the fund administration industry, with at least 2 years in a Private Equity role.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.In-depth understanding of the fund administration industry, including multiple fund structures, fee calculations, financial instruments, and fund offering documentation review.1+ years of experience with fund accounting software, Investran would be an asset.Post-secondary education/University Degree with a concentration in finance or accounting.Additional Skills & QualificationsCPA, CA, CFA certifications.Experience managing staff.Knowledge of NAV, fund structures, fee calculations, financial instruments.Understanding of controls, SOC, regulatory requirements, and financial statements.Work Environment
The position is based onsite in Toronto with the opportunity to work remotely two days a week after three months. Our office environment is collaborative and dynamic, with a focus on technology-driven solutions for efficient fund accounting operations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $145000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
