Senior Associate - Data Governance & Management

How will you make an impact in this role?

This role is part of the newly formed Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) Data Office. 

As a Data Governance & Management Analyst, you are part of a team responsible for supporting activities for the day-to-day compliance with the Enterprise Data Management Operating Policy within Enterprise Technology Services. You and your team are responsible for identifying critical data, maintaining data definitions, classifying data, supporting data sourcing / usage requests, assessing data risk, measuring Data Risk Controls, and confirming Data Incidents are remediated. You will partner across various business units, technology teams, and product/platform teams to define and implement the data governance strategy, supervising and leading data quality, resolving data/platform issues, and driving consistency, usability, and governance of specific product data across the enterprise. 

Primary Responsibilities:  

Support ETS by supporting the identification of data risk, performing root-cause-analysis of data incidents, and contributing to the remediation of audit and regulatory feedback. 

Develop a working knowledge of the Enterprise Data Management Operating Policy and ETS specific governance practices to support the Data Office in the execution of its role  

Support platform data quality monitoring, including but not limited to key reports. 

Perform data profiling to understand ETS data and identify data risks 

Support the assessment and identification of data risk, working with upstream data providers, downstream business partners, as well as technology teams. 

Partner with Process Owner and Data Custodian teams to write, test, implement data quality controls 

Coordinate with Business Units and other Business Unit Data Offices to ensure System level Lineage is documented completely and accurately 

Build platform expertise to aid in the identification of critical data elements and contribute to the roadmap to govern the data elements. 

Support product managers to ensure new use cases are managed according to policy. 

 

 

Qualifications: 

2 – 5 years of experience executing data governance and data management responsibilities in a regulated or risk-managed environment (e.g., regulatory reporting, risk management, financial services). 

Strong communication skills and ability to summarize information and tailor messaging depending on level of audience  

Intermediate understanding of Data Management and Data Governance concepts (metadata, lineage, data quality, business glossary, data risk and incident management, etc.) and prior experience. 

Prior experience with system or data analysis  

Intermediate competency in SQL, BigQuery, Python or other programming languages. 

Prior experience in Technology risk, IT governance or Technology Data Management preferred. 

Prior experience with Agile or SAFe project methodologies. 

Prior experience of data governance, metadata, and data lineage tools such as Collibra, MANTA, etc. 

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or other similar fields.
