Senior Associate, Philanthropic Capital Business Manager

We are seeking a Senior Associate for our Philanthropic Capital Business Management team, based in either Washington, DC or Chicago, IL. 

 

As a Philanthropic Grants Management Senior Associate in the Corporate Responsibility Division, you will be instrumental in managing grantmaking and credit solutions portfolio management processes. You will work closely with various teams across JPMorgan Chase & Co., providing support and advisory services to Global Philanthropy stakeholders, including various grantmaking and Impact credit teams. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our philanthropic efforts and contribute to our mission of creating pathways to opportunity.

 

Business Management optimizes business performance by helping to drive key strategic initiatives and priorities through strong project management and advisory. We act as independent, trusted advisors and counterweight to Business/Group Heads and are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks.

 

Job Responsibilities

Lead execution of critical grants management processes; advise on grants in development and manage the application workflow, process, and grantmaking database (Cybergrants/Salesforce)Provide assistance to grantees during the application process, including light tech supportReview grant applications, budgets, and financials for completeness and complianceDraft agreements and manage the agreement review and negotiation processesTrack and review grantee reports and financialsSupport budget management and reporting, including tracking and reconciling paymentsMaintain reporting and metrics recording and analysisManage input within the technology platforms associated with the loan portfolio management process (IFPM and Salesforce)Provide support for impact metric alignment and reporting, including geographic alignment of transactions across the portfolio; drive reporting (Loan Pipeline) and materials for the Independent Valuation Forum (IVRF), the Portfolio Management Forum (PMF), and Executive Monthly Reporting (EMR)Support execution of portfolio activity (principal repayments, draws, etc.) as requiredLead and manage short‑ and long‑term projects to support Corporate Responsibility’s Philanthropy goals and help improve Corporate Responsibility’s processes and procedures; partner with OCFO control team members on required reporting, control checks, and testing/audits

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

3+ years of experience in the financial services industry coupled with experience in a grants management‑related roleExperience working with nonprofits, including performing due diligence, reviewing financial documents, and analyzing grantmaking riskUnderstanding of IRS charitable lawComfort with and ability to diligently review financial statementsExperience with financial and valuation analyses (e.g., discounted cash flow analysis)Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative, to prioritize and accurately complete multiple tasks, and to work under deadlines and changing priorities in order to drive resultsProficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience in a position requiring knowledge of grantmaking rules and regulations and private or corporate foundation policy; familiarity with Venture Capital, Private Equity, Credit, or Investment Banking products
