We are searching for an ASIC design engineer interested in developing world-class solutions for the next generation of AI/ML and video processing IP.

This is a New Position.

Principal Duties

Develop micro-architecture specifications by applying sound ASIC engineering practicesDesign and System-C modelling of multimedia and compute ASIC modules and sub-systemsImplement modules in hardware design languages such as System Verilog RTL and VS Code/WiseResolve performance, area, power and system cost tradeoffs to optimize micro-architecturesCreate performance verification monitors, models, and test scenariosDesign tests and functional models using System-C, Python, and System VerilogComplete test plan reviews and coverage-driven constrained-random verificationDevelop SVA assertions for functional and formal verificationIntegrate modules into a sub-system, performing code and test quality checksImplement and debug constraints to achieve netlist synthesis and static timing closure

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years of ASIC designProven experience delivering Verilog and System Verilog RTLDetail oriented with strong analytical and debugging skillsStrong communication (written and verbal), collaboration, and specification skillsExperience with cache control and/or video processing function design and/or verificationPracticed design knowledge working with some of the following concepts:Clock domain crossing and reset architectureImage processing filter implementationFIFOs implementation/integrationCache Design and OptimizationBus implementation/verification techniquesMemory selection and controlHigh speed and low power design optimizationBus interface protocols (APB, AHB, AXI)Experience with some of the followingSimulation and code coverage tools (VCS, Verdi, or Xcelium)RTL Development (VS Code/Codewise)Model development (SystemC, or C++)Design rule and CDC checking (SVA assertions, Spyglass, 0-in, etc.)Scripting languages (PERL, Python, TCL, C, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$104,900.00 - $154,900.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.  We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).  In addition, our highly competitive benefits package is designed to support your success at work, at home, and at play.
