Guidewire is seeking highly motivated integration experts who are looking to work with current, leading-edge technology on challenging, customer-focused consulting and implementation projects.
This position requires a unique blend of functional and technical aptitude, business savvy, and professional consulting skills. You will become a subject matter expert in insurance industry technical solutions.
The Guidewire Professional Services organization includes business architects, functional consultants, and technical integration consultants who work together to help customers and systems integrators (SI) implement Guidewire software. Our projects are complex and can last from three months to two years depending on the specific customer requirements. During a project, the team will identify customer business requirements, identify solutions leveraging out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities coupled with configuration to meet those requirements, and integrate the Guidewire application to other internal and external systems.
Guidewire consultants are expected to spend up to 50% of their time on-site with the customer business and technical teams. This role is focused on the EMEA region with a priority for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but there may be an opportunity to work in other regions that Guidewire operates in.
What You'll Do
You will be responsible for the integration portion of the implementation of Guidewire enterprise software following an Agile methodology.
Participate in the full project lifecycle from initial requirements gathering and product definition, through implementation and on to post-production.
Work with customers and SI partners to implement Guidewire software, mentoring and applying standards and best practices for implementations.
Design, create, configure and implement the necessary integration points for the application architecture using Java, Apache Camel and Guidewire’s proprietary Gosu programming language
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, quality assurance testers and project leadership to ensure project success
Coordinate the implementation of the custom solutions, assist day-to-day maintenance, support and update issues.
Design and implement configuration and integration tests including monitoring software incidents and communicating software issues to Guidewire development professionals.
Technical Skills
Strong OO design, development and test skills with proven patterns knowledge, exceptional documentation skills, and the ability to communicate your thought process
Enterprise software product implementation experience within complex environments
Understand the concepts of both relational and NoSQL databases
Be prepared to write and review code, providing recommendations to customers and partners
Leading and collaborating across multi-functional teams on complex large-scale projects in multiple locations
Experience in Agile methodology

Understand and adapt to the internal dynamics of customers and SI partners to facilitate project plans and execution
Ability to develop deep customer and partner relationships and become a trusted advisor
Highly motivated, results-driven and a tenacious problem solver
Coaching and mentoring other internal and external team members on tools, best practices and methodology

Ability to facilitate workshops, present and explain complex solutions and recommended solutions
Native German language skills, as well as strong English oral and written skills
BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
