Job Description

AECOM requires a Licensed Senior Architect for our expanding Building + Places division to undertake complex and critical projects for a diverse client base. The successful candidate will be based in the Pittsburgh area and collaborate with the Philadelphia Design Team to conduct on-site meetings, surveys, and construction administration, necessitating direct interaction with local design team members, consultants, and clients.

The Senior Architect will be accountable for the following critical responsibilities:

Manage multifaceted transit, aviation, and other public and private sector projects, overseeing teams of architects, engineers, and consultants of varying sizes.Assume full responsibility for the interpretation, organization, execution, and coordination of technical assignments.Provide authoritative architectural guidance, perform precise calculations, conduct thorough analyses, undertake comprehensive studies, and deliver well-founded recommendations within strict project schedules and budgets.Exercise independent judgment on technical matters pertaining to the field.Spearhead business development initiatives in Pittsburgh by maintaining strategic relationships with local clients, identifying and cultivating project opportunities, and positioning AECOM for potential architectural contracts.Develop sophisticated technical strategies and comprehensive fee proposals in response to RFPs.Establish and nurture professional relationships with engineering and other discipline units within AECOM and external consultants to facilitate the formation of multi-discipline teams for design proposals.Oversee the recruitment and strategic growth of the Pittsburgh-based architecture group in alignment with evolving workload demands.Execute various management, leadership, and personnel accountability functions for architects located in Pittsburgh.Contribute to the rigorous training, objective evaluation, and professional development of architectural and design/drafting personnel.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS in Architecture plus eight (8) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Professional License as Architect (RA).

Preferred Qualifications:

Project production experience.Advanced technical skills: Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office, Adobe Suite.Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work efficiently and effectively within a team environment.Hybrid work options, 2 days minimum per week in office required.
