Senior Archaeologist Location: Irvine, CA Workplace Type: On-site Experience Level: Expert Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Archaeologist to lead cultural resource initiatives in our Irvine office. This strategic role is designed to anchor a growing team in Orange County, bridging the gap between LA Metro and San Diego. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong business development capabilities, and leadership experience to support projects across Southern California. Key Responsibilities + Lead Phase I archaeological surveys, Phase II testing, and data recovery efforts. + Conduct construction compliance monitoring and fieldwork across diverse environments. + Prepare and contribute to archaeological reports and documentation. + Serve as a technical expert and independent reviewer for cultural resource projects. + Drive business development and client engagement to build a portfolio of work in Irvine. + Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to support strategic growth. Required Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred). + 8–10+ years of experience in environmental consulting and archaeological fieldwork. + Proven experience in construction monitoring and archaeological compliance. + Ability to work independently in varied field conditions (urban, remote, wilderness). + Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record. + Willingness to travel across Southern California. Preferred Qualifications + RPA (Registered Professional Archaeologist) certification. + Experience with GIS, GPS, Survey 123, and DPR 523 forms. + Familiarity with agency permits (e.g., NPS, BLM). + Strong client management and business development skills. + Experience in project management and team leadership. Compensation + Hourly Rate: $45.00 – $55.00 Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
