Are you a database maestro with a passion for Oracle and Postgres? Kyriba is searching for an Applicative DBA who will be a cornerstone in implementing best practices across our application stacks. You will work closely with our infrastructure DBAs and architects, ensuring alignment and excellence in database management and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Introducing Oracle DB Sharding:

Design and Implementation: Lead the design and introduction of Oracle database sharding to enhance scalability and resilience.

Application-Level Changes: Collaborate with development teams to implement necessary changes at both the database and Java application levels, ensuring seamless integration and operation within a sharded environment.

Ongoing Support: Provide expertise and support throughout the migration and after sharding is live, monitoring performance and troubleshooting any sharding-specific issues.

Improving Data Quality During DR Incremental Dump Creation:

Cross-Database Data Consistency: Enhance processes for creating incremental dumps between Oracle and Postgres during Disaster Recovery (DR) scenarios, with a focus on maintaining and improving data quality.

Validation and Reconciliation: Implement robust data validation and reconciliation procedures to detect and resolve inconsistencies or data loss during transfers.

Automation and Monitoring: Develop tools and scripts to automate incremental dump creation and monitor for anomalies, ensuring reliable and high-quality data migration between systems.

Best Practice Implementation: Lead the charge in applying best database practices across Oracle and Postgres environments within our application stacks.

Collaboration with Infrastructure DBAs: Work in tandem with our infrastructure DBAs to ensure proper information and alignment.

Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize database performance, ensuring our applications run smoothly and efficiently.

Experience:

8+ years of experience in database administration or architecture.

Extensive experience with Oracle and Postgres databases.

Proven track record in implementing best practices in database management.

Experience with diving into Java and Python-based applications.

Strong experience collaborating with developers to optimize and integrate database solutions within applicative stacks.

Demonstrated ability to understand and influence the application architecture, ensuring seamless interaction between databases and application layers.

Skills:

Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of Oracle and Postgres database systems, including performance tuning and optimization.

Ability to understand core Java code in existing frameworks.

Collaboration and Communication: Strong ability to collaborate with different teams and communicate complex database concepts effectively.

Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.

Documentation Skills: Proficient in creating detailed and clear documentation for database systems and best practices.
