WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The WMT team is undertaking multiple complex enterprise-wide initiatives as part of RBC’s ongoing plan to improve Wealth technology portfolio management across the organization. The Sr. Technical Specialist will collaborate with IT and Wealth Management business partners to ensure our technology solutions meet stakeholder needs.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Manage day to day production support issuesResponsible for change management activities in test and production environments, including deployment of code, while adhering to source code management and release management policiesMaintain health and safety of production systems and applications. Identify risks and risk mitigation opportunities. Improve existing application instrumentation and monitoring.Work with development teams and business partners to provide input on best mix of development, interfacing applications, and third party vendor solutions to meet business requirements and project objectives in an agile environment.Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, management, stakeholders, infrastructure teams and interface groups using a variety of techniques and collaboration from start to finishBuild knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business, and information systemsProvide coaching, expertise, and feedback to build the capability of the teamInvolved in occasional weekend and after-hours supportWHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
Experience with troubleshooting application and database issues by leveraging tools such as Dynatrace/Aternity/OEM in a AIX/Linux environmentProficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft C#, ASP.Net, SQL, PL/SQL programming, Strong knowledge Linux/Unix operating systemsExperience with automation of routine database/infrastructure administration tasks, Oracle database architecture, database performance monitoring and SQL tuningProficiency with cloud hosted applications, Microsoft Azure, OCP, Windows Server operating systems and IISDEVOPs and SRE experience (Jenkins, Ansible etc..), Strong ability to write/read/troubleshoot SQL queriesNice-to-have:
Proficiency with Javascript, jQuery, AngularJSJavaStrong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skillsStrong understanding of ITIL service management processes and familiarity with tools such as ServiceNowWhat’s in it for you?
