The team is part of the Developer Services ART, where the teams serves the majority of Business Line Applications (BL Apps) in ASML. Stakeholders consist of D&E, IT and CS representatives.
The infra team offers the resources for Developer and System teams to develop, test and run their services. Either by being the liaison for HW Infrastructure (Compute, Storage, Network) or directly, by providing Virtualization and Kubernetes resources, Ansible automation and GitOps.
Role and responsibilities
You'll work as part of a team of infrastructure specialists, focusing on the design and implementation of technical solutions of infrastructure products in support of customer needs (in- and outside of IT). You'll generally work within one or multiple teams in a Release Trains.
You'll be responsible for co-designing new solutions with architects from designing the solution to writing the code. And act as a mentor for colleagues to develop them to reflect on problems / solutions themselves.
As senior application engineer, you’ll:
Maintain infrastructure road map , drive advances in technologies and architectures to increase the value delivered by technology and digital capabilities, either through improvements to the efficiency of technology environment or through those that reduce the total cost of technology operations. Recommend and participate in activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the digital capabilities within the overarching architecture
Collect business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals. Align conflicting requirements between teams. Document "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required
Maintain an agreed set of architectural artifacts. Independently produce multiple concepts and prototypes with cross-functional teams to design digital products/services in line with industry standards and best practices
Develop, select, implement and support infra solutions in line with industry best practice and provides third-line point of escalation for appropriate global infrastructure solutions
Independently perform solution tests and monitors, diagnoses, and corrects performance issues
Ensure the availability of the services provided in cooperation with colleagues from other IT specialty areas. Support data-driven analysis to identify opportunities for product/service improvement
Implement and provide input on the design of required security measures such as firewalls or message encryption, monitoring performance to notify security experts of any problems
Coach colleagues in developing solutions in line with industry best practices and compliant with policies. Act as mentor towards more junior colleagues and contribute to competence development. Responsible for peer reviews, co-development activities and guiding the team in quality of developments
Education and experience
To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you’ll need experience working on High Tech products and with complex processes. As senior application engineer, you’ll need:
Master degree or equivalent thinking and working level, with comprehensive experience in a major IT infrastructure domain
At least 8 years of experience in a relevant field
Highly experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer with relevant (e.g. information technology or computer science)
Extensive knowledge of/experience across relevant domains like cloud, compute, storage, connectivity and/or automation.
Experience with a technical leadership role in Infrastructure Engineering projects

Other informationFor this position, the indicative (fixed) annual salary range is between 96.000 euro and 108.000 euro. This range comprises vacation allowance and a 13th-month payment. Company profit sharing is not included in this range. The actual compensation offered will depend on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: job-related skills, relevant education and (work) experience, certifications, demonstrated abilities of the candidate, pay relative to other team members.
