Senior Application Engineer

We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions. **The Senior Applications Engineer will provide advanced engineering and technical support for custom-engineered heat transfer products throughout the inquiry-to-order and order-to-cash cycles. This role supports the global Xylem sales team, distributors, and representatives by reviewing specifications, performing thermal analyses, estimating costs, and preparing proposals. The engineer will also contribute to product development, margin analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.** **Technical & Commercial Support** + Select, rate, and quote standard and engineered heat exchanger products to meet customer specifications. + Perform thermal analysis to determine optimal sizing and configuration. + Adapt standard and engineered equipment to meet application requirements. + Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing for design and cost estimating. + Price heat exchangers using cost programs, price books, and available data. + Prepare and review proposals, contracts, and submittals for municipal and industrial projects. + Review and compare POs to Quotes as needed. + Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 procedures. **Collaboration & Communication** + Serve as the heat exchanger application expert for assigned markets. + Support internal teams including sales, engineering, purchasing, and customer service. + Assist in developing and maintaining SOPs, sales tools, and design/costing templates. + Use CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to manage project data and communications. + Provide technical expertise to field sales, reps, distributors, and customers. + Participate, as needed, in customer meetings to offer product knowledge and support. **Project Execution & Continuous Improvement** + Collaborate with purchasing and manufacturing to ensure lead times and cost estimates are met. + Monitor project cycle times, identify bottlenecks, and balance workloads. + Report customer complaints and warranty claims to management. + Assist in developing new price lists and technical data for field sales. + Maintain and update account files and documentation of industry trends. + Recommend strategic account handling based on market, delivery, cost, and profitability. **Qualifications** **Education & Experience** + Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering. + 5+ years of experience in the rotating mechanical equipment or heat exchanger industry preferred. + Experience with heat transfer design and hydraulic systems. **Skills & Abilities** + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of 2D/3D software (AutoCAD, CREO/ProE) preferred. + Experience with CRM systems and thermal design software (HTRI, ASPEN). + Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. + Strong organizational and task management skills. + Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus. **Physical Demands & Work Environment** + Light lifting (up to 25 lbs); primarily office environment with occasional shop exposure. + Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility. + Travel up to 10% may be required to support customer meetings and project execution.
