JOB TITLE: Senior Applications Engineer ACCOUNTABILITIES

Establish and maintain professional business relationships with a designated Business line.

Coordinate service requests from the Business to DBS.

Effectively manage and maintain the applications and systems portfolio for the designated Business lines, ensuring services have minimal unplanned downtime and optimal service level.

Identify business requirements and manage the implementation of effective solutions and improvements in accordance with the Enterprise Architecture, positioning DBS as a value-adding business partner.

JOB DIMENSIONS

Manage a portfolio of 60 applications, including 30 complex engineering solutions.

Oversee 15 middleware systems (DBMS, Data Warehouse, Application Frameworks, etc.) supporting petroleum applications.

Manage 50+ servers or cloud services used by applications.

Liaise with over 30 vendors to maintain the application portfolio.

Manage the budget for surface solutions in designated business lines.

Handle around 10 concurrent daily activities for the designated business line.

Collaborate with business partners to understand their issues and ensure solutions align with strategy and roadmap.

Understand business line processes and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions.

ACTIVITIES

Act as the primary contact for a set of services and manage applications to ensure optimal service levels.

Provide day-to-day support to multiple departments.

Support, optimize, and manage the surface solutions portfolio across business lines.

Maintain high satisfaction levels with business focal points.

Deliver Level 3 support for designated business applications.

Interface with external application vendors.

Oversee developers and consultants for service improvements.

Manage contracts and licenses related to applications.

Advise end-users and colleagues based on technical expertise.

Maintain updated documentation (interface visuals, service matrix, SOPs, etc.).

Lead technical projects in the surface domain.

Monitor and report service availability and usage statistics.

Execute tasks in line with internal policies.

Implement new business solutions following quality standards and cost-efficiency principles.

Collaborate on architectural design with internal technical teams.

Guide business partners on strategy alignment and environment coherence.

Capture and drive business demand from initiation to execution.

Gather user feedback and requirements.

Act as a Product SME for digital use cases.

Participate in remote configuration activities and track service performance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field.

Minimum 15 years in IS/IT roles.

Expertise in application development, integration, databases, web, and cloud technologies.

10 years in application implementation and maintenance.

5 years supporting various corporate functions.

Project management experience.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage administrative work.

Team player with a pragmatic, adaptable mindset.

Ability to multitask and manage change.

Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Excellent interpersonal skills.
