Overview:
The External Reporting Department leads the firm's external reporting, including SEC filings, subsidiary financial statements, ESG reporting and all other external reporting. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of the firm's external filings in accordance with US GAAP and SEC rules and providing technical reporting expertise.
Key Responsibilities: Integrally involved in the external reporting processes for SEC filings, financial statements and other reporting. Includes obtaining supporting documentation for preparing filings, performing analyses, drafting disclosures and ensuring completeness and accuracy.Assist with associate development and provide oversight of certain reporting responsibilitiesRemain current on SEC rules, monitor proposed rules and potential impacts, strengthen technical skillsCollaborate with stakeholders in Finance and across the firm to ensure disclosures are accurate and reporting deadlines are metContinuous evaluation of processes for improvement, efficiencies and best practicesCollaborate with the external auditor for successful completion of yearend audits and serve as liaison for ongoing workWhat Experience You Will Need: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in public accounting CPA strongly preferredStrong understanding of Financial Statements, SEC Reporting and US GAAPHighly qualified candidates will have demonstrated experience in the following:Deliver the right outcomes \u2013 works independently, maintains high quality of work during busy periods, holds self accountable, very detail orientedCollaborates \u2013 comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across finance, the firm and outside parties to seek resolution for reporting issuesLearn continuously \u2013 continuous desire to learn and acquire new skills, intellectually curious and wants to understand the whyWhat Could Set You Apart:Strong technical accounting skillsAbility to work in teams and independentlyFinancial services or brokerage industry experienceFamiliarity with XBRL and Active Disclosure platform
