Senior Analyst - Credit and Collections

As the Senior Analyst – Credit and Collections, you will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable for a portfolio of customers, including collecting payments, maintaining records, and evaluating credit information to minimize credit risk. You will be responsible for contacting customers to confirm outstanding payments, obtain payment commitments and recommending solutions to remove impediments for future customer payments within the agreed payment terms. You will also mentor others with lower-level positions in Financial Services.
Responsibilities:
Reviews past due invoices and makes a high-volume of collection contacts via phone, e-mail, or customer portals. Works with the customer to determine root cause of dispute for unpaid or short-paid invoices. Identifies and documents detailed reason and recommends corrective action to resolve current and future disputes. Performs customer account reconciliations, including research of unapplied cash, and credits and unearned discounts. Recommends actions for resolution and avoidance of future reconciling issues. Evaluates collectability of unearned cash discounts, finance charges, small dollar invoices, etc. and performs write-offs of uncollectable amounts within their level of authority. Reviews and approves write-offs escalated from Analysts and further escalates with recommendations to next level of approval authority based on materiality. Obtains appropriate credit information to rate credit worthiness of new and existing accounts within assigned portfolio. Reviews and approves credit limits escalated from Analysts and further escalates with recommendations to next level of approval authority based on materiality. Works cross-functionally with sales, operations, finance, contract administration, and customer master administration teams to gather and review documents, including purchase orders, credit applications, and loads into contract tracking tool with recommendation of approval decision by financial services management and partners. Reviews orders on credit hold by assessing credit worthiness of customers, including financial ratings, open invoices, in-process payments, and backlog. Releases orders or escalates to supervisor with recommendation for continued credit hold actions.Qualifications:
Associates’ Degree (U.S.)/College Diploma (Canada) - Accounting, finance, supply chain or business required; Bachelors’ Degree preferred Licenses/Certificates/Designations - NACM or similar preferred 3 years of accounts receivable, accounting, finance, supply chain or general business 3 years of commercial, business to business, credit and collection experience in a high-volume environment 3 years of working with trade credit and other third parties (e.g., D&B, Experian, Equifax, NACM, CreditSafe) to obtain credit information Knowledge of computer system applications: HighRadius, Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, and familiarity with an ERP platform (e.g., Oracle, DAX, AS400 etc.) required. High level of Excel knowledge preferred including pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, etc. Strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills with a positive disposition. Reliable with strong organizational skills and solution-oriented philosophy. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Strong attention to detail with a passion for accuracy. Willingness to accommodate temporary working hour changes as required by workflow. Ability to prioritize tasks and demonstrate a willingness to accept new challenges. Ability to work with all levels of management to accomplish goals and objectives. Willingness to travel on a limited basis (1-3 trips per year)#LI-RA1
