The Procurement team finds, researches, and assesses suppliers to make sure they meet the company's standards for price, quality, timing, and reliability. The team also looks for sales and other opportunities to get lower prices and checks that supplier products comply with quality standards and specifications
This role in summaryWhirlpool is looking for a Senior Buyer of Wire harnesses to join the Global Strategic Sourcing team within the Direct Procurement organization. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for leading category strategies, sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, and contracting in line with Whirlpool's policies and KPIs. The role involves optimizing over $150M in annual spending for the NAR Region and is critical for delivering engineering projects, dual sourcing strategies, and on-time sourcing for multiple categories.
Your responsibilities will includeManage commercial relationships and supplier performance.
Lead and manage procurement initiatives and projects.
Negotiate contracts and/or statements of work between Whirlpool and its suppliers.
Achieve cost reductions year-over-year in the Wiring category.
Conduct market insights and provide risk mitigation plans.
Resolve daily operational supply base issues.
Drive continuous improvement, change, and compliance.
Develop and carry out category strategies to achieve results.

Data analytics and benchmark
Support cross functional stakeholders such as Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Manufacturing and Supply Chain on a daily basis to achieve operational excellence in current and future businesses.
Minimum requirementsBachelor's Degree
4+ years of experience in Procurement, Business, Finance, or Supply Chain
Preferred skills and experiencesExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Successful experience with negotiation, contract execution, and development, as well as conflict resolution.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate data.
Experience using SAP system or equivalent and familiarity with e-sourcing tools.
Strong leadership attributes and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple key activities simultaneously.
A strong application of strategic RFP processes, supplier management, and other procurement principles.
