Senior Analyst, Multi-Asset Indices
S&P Global
**About the Role:**
**Grade Level (for internal use):**
11
The Multi-Asset Indices Product Management team at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) is seeking a Senior Analyst to support its initiatives in both the US and globally. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as a product manager, providing S&P DJI’s clients with indexing solutions in growing areas of the insurance, options overlay, and multi-asset investment universes. This multi-faceted role includes serving as the owner of the product development and maintenance process as well as the financial health of the product line.
**The Team:**
In developing solutions for a broad range of clients (insurance, banks, asset managers, etc.), our product suite focuses on strategies for index-linked insurance products, derivatives overlay strategies, retirement, and other multi-asset retirement strategies. The team has a global mandate for setting the product strategy and driving long-term success of the product line.
**The Role:**
In this role, you will support and promote our multi-asset index suite globally. You will play a key role in developing new and supporting existing multi-asset indices for all client types. You will also help develop, shape, and execute the multi-asset business strategy working with the sales organization.
This is a highly technical role, but it also requires effective collaboration skills and a commercial-focused mindset to achieve the team’s strategic priorities. In addition to being a hands-on Product Manager, the candidate will need to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals.
**What’s In It for You:**
The investment industry is in the midst of a tremendous structural shift brought about by technological changes and the shift from active to passive investing. This position sits squarely at the epicenter of this evolution.
The role will provide exposure to multiple product types and asset classes within investment management. You will join a high performing team where you will have the opportunity to learn from local and international colleagues.
The role will allow the Senior Analyst to have exposure to multiple groups within S&P DJI (Marketing and Communications, Channel management, Research & Design, Index Development, Client Coverage, and others), to clients such as insurance carriers, structured product desks, asset managers, exchanges, and other financial technology and data players.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Help oversee the index launch process: plan the overall project, coordinate across internal teams, and manage timelines with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Support the suite of Multi-Asset Indices and products via analysis and content creation for thought leadership materials (pitch decks, blogs, white papers, videos, and other media).
+ Work closely with the Research and Design team on index design.
+ Assist in defining and executing the product development strategy, considering broad market trends and client needs.
+ Collaborate with product management team members and support global initiatives.
**Qualifications:**
+ 2+ years of experience working in the index industry, structuring desk at a bank, asset management, or related.
+ Self-driven with strong motivation to research and innovate on new ideas.
+ Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential, comfortable working with large data sets.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidate would eventually have to deliver high quality presentations both internally and externally to clients. In addition, they would be responsible for creating other content.
+ The position requires the ability to deal with a high level of technical complexity and the ability to explain that complexity to audiences with a wide spectrum of sophistication. It is not expected that the individual be competent in any of the existing strategies, but they should have the background and the ability to tackle steep learning curves and drive discussions with extremely sophisticated clients.
+ Knowledge of financial platforms such as FactSet, Morningstar, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Barra, Axioma, etc. is desirable.
+ Programming skills (Python, R, SQL, VBA, others) are desirable.
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Candidate can effectively influence others and gain their consensus when needed.
