The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking an experienced Senior Analog Design Engineer to join our photonics team. Join team CACI as we work with NASA and the DoD to create high-definition video communications for the International Space Station, help discover biohazards, support US intelligence, and other state-of-the-art real-world applications.   

Responsibilities:

The role will involve designing cutting-edge photonic and electronic systems, with a focus on integrating optical and electrical components for space and other advanced applications.

Design and develop high-performance analog circuits, including DC-10GHz ADC and DAC circuits, with interfaces to advanced FPGAs.Conduct thorough analysis and simulation of analog circuits throughout the design process to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Drive the integration of opto-electronic devices such as lasers, variable optical attenuators (VOAs), and PIN diodes into electrical designs.Create detailed schematics for circuit designs, including component selection and management, with a focus on space-grade and high-reliability parts.Work with PCB layout and fabrication vendors to ensure that board designs meet stringent performance and quality requirements for high-reliability applications.Collaborate with digital and optical hardware teams to integrate electronic designs with photonic components, ensuring seamless system operation.Design and implement control loops and switching power supplies for photonic systems.Support the development of IPC Class III PCB designs and oversee assembly processes.Continuously improve design methodologies and stay current with advancements in photonics and electronics technologies.

Qualifications:

Required: 

Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering5+ years or demonstrated expertise in analog circuit design, preferably in aerospace or other high-reliability industries.Experience with trans-impedance and operational amplifiers.Experience with digitizers (ADC and DAC) front ends.Expertise in circuit analysis and simulation using industry-standard tools.Strong knowledge of high-speed digital and analog circuit design principles.Understanding of control loop design and switching power supply principles.Proficiency in schematic capture software and analog simulation tools such as SPICE or LT SPICE


Desired:

Experience with space-qualified electronics design and testing.Familiarity with opto-electronic device integration, including lasers, VOAs, and PIN diodes.Familiarity with photonics principles and optical communication systems and radiation-hardening techniques for electronic components.Experience with thermal management in high-power density designs.Experience with IPC Class III PCB design and assembly processes.Knowledge of EEE-INST-002 and associated derating practices for space applications.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$103,800 - $218,100
