As a **Senior AI/ML Engineer** , you will harness cutting-edge AI and machine learning technologies to enhance and transform current operations at Optum. You will work to design, develop, and productionize machine learning models and AI systems that solve real-world problems in Payment Integrity . You will collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to deploy scalable, reliable, and maintainable AI/ML services; monitor model performance and drive continuous improvement. **Schedule** : Full-time position with standard working hours of Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. _Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin or Letterkenny office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model._ **Primary Responsibilities:** + Design, prototype, and implement Al/ML Solutions for Optum Payment Integrity Use Cases + Build end-to-end AI/ML pipelines: data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, validation, and deployment + Productionize models as scalable APIs or microservices using AI/MLOps best practices (CI/CD, containerization, orchestration) + Monitor model performance in production, detect drift, retrain models, and manage model lifecycle + Optimize models for latency, throughput, and cost + Collaborate with stakeholders to translate product requirements into AI/ML solutions and measure business impact + Ensure ethical AI practices: fairness, explainability, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations _You will be rewarded and recognised for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in._ **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field + Hands-on experience in analyzing business challenges and designing AI/ML driven solutions + Experience in at least one scripting language, such as Java, Python or PySpark + Experience in working with predictive analytics, NLP, image processing, Generative AI, or related technologies **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with cloud platforms and services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container tech (Docker, Kubernetes) + Experience with observability/monitoring tools + DevOps or data engineering experience + Ability to find AI solutions for complex problems **Soft Skills:** + Ability to be a fast learner and self-driven + Problem-solving and analytical thinking + Communicator able to explain technical decisions to stakeholders + Team player with a bias toward action and continuous learning **Please note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the country to which you are making an application.
