Fluidra is looking for a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Carlsbad, CA.  WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE  We are seeking an experienced Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer specializing in injection molding.  This is an in-person role at our Carlsbad, CA office. The ideal candidate will have practical, hands-on experience with injection mold tooling setup, scientific molding principles, and the ability to perform and interpret mold-filling simulations. Additionally, you will:  Collaborate with product engineers to optimize part designs for manufacturabilityConduct and interpret mold-filling simulations to identify potential molding issues and optimize new tool designsReview and provide feedback for injection mold tool designsOptimize and troubleshoot injection molding processes using scientific molding principlesReview and approve First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) for molded partsSupport new tool validation and production launch activities with domestic and international suppliersSome domestic and international travel is required to support tooling and molding processes.  Travel rarely exceeds 3 weeks per yearWHAT WE SEEKFamiliarity with 3D CAD modeling software, Solidworks or equivalentExperience reviewing injection molded part designs for manufacturabilityFamiliarity with Moldflow or similar mold filling simulation software with an emphasis on interpreting simulation resultsExperience setting up and optimizing new injection mold tools with process validation studies including, for example, short-shot, viscosity (rheology) curve, and gate-freezeStrong knowledge of scientific molding methodsStrong knowledge of injection mold tool gating, venting, cooling, and parting line decisionsTrack record of injection molding troubleshootingExperience working with international contract manufacturers8 or more years of tooling and molding experience focusing on new tool design, molding optimization, mold fill simulations and injection molding troubleshootingCertification or formal training in scientific molding is a plusEDUCATIONDegree not required — relevant experience valued equally; bachelor’s degree a plus.WHAT WE OFFER  An exciting opportunity to dive in and begin your career with a company that offers a competitive total rewards package that includes: Flexible Vacation Time9/80 work week schedule (EVERY OTHER FRIDAY OFF!) with subsequent Fridays WFH11 paid HolidaysFull range of health benefits including medical, dental & vision, short & long-term disability401(K) matching (100% of first 3% contributed, 50% of the next 2%)Health and wellness programs / gym reimbursementEducational assistance up to $7,000 per yearOn-site self-service café / free gourmet coffee stations Company sponsored FUN events!Generous product discountsWHO WE AREFluidra is a publicly listed company focused on developing innovative products, services and IoT solutions for the residential, commercial and wellness pool markets, globally.
