The University of Virginia’s International Studies Office (ISO), a division of UVA Global, is a university-wide resource which contributes to UVA’s global mission through activities, programs and services designed to support the development of a globally aware, culturally diverse education and research environment.
Position Summary
The ISO invites applications for a Senior Administrative Coordinator to serve as the primary front desk representative and administrative support resource. This position may be filled by one full-time (40 hours/week) or two part-time employees (approximately 24 hours/week each). The position is fully in-person, from 8:30 AM – 5 PM with a 30-minute lunch break. Applicants should have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Answer phones and welcome/direct visitors
Coordinate front desk coverage when back up is needed
Maintain individual and shared calendars
Schedule and assist with event logistics including preparation of materials, event setup, and guest coordination as needed
Manage professional membership subscriptions
Manage monthly expenses related to office purchases and resources including cell phone bills, AnswerPhone subscription, etc.
Work in databases pertaining to international students and scholars and study abroad
Provide archived documents when requested
Manage occasional shipping of documents
Monitor and order office supplies
Report as necessary any office maintenance and custodial needs
Provide assistance as needed to the fiscal technician
Manage out of office messaging with answering service
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidate must have a high school diploma and six years’ experience. Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.
Must be confident with databases/reporting tools. The ability to work collaboratively in a team unit as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
Physical Demands
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
Salary Range
The anticipated hiring range is $24–$26 commensurate with education and experience.

This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
