SAVA is in search of an experienced professional to join our team in Washington, D.C., as a Senior Adjudicator, working in support of a Law Enforcement Agency. The selected individuals will work closely with key stakeholders and handle high-volume, confidential, and time-sensitive materials, providing excellent customer service and acting as a liaison to insurance companies claim services, claimants, policyholders, agents, counterparts in other departments, external legal professionals, external medical professionals, financial institutions, government/regulatory agencies, potential customers, vendors and suppliers as necessary to perform assigned tasks under the contract, among other duties. Responsibilities The senior adjudicator will plan and oversee the adjudication process for the hiring of sworn recruit officers. The senior adjudicator will work closely with upper management to ensure that the scope and direction of each submission is on schedule. The senior adjudicator manages and leads a team of adjudicators and assigns approved applicant case files to adjudication staff and monitors their completion. The senior adjudicator receives, and reviews candidate lists to determine preliminary suitability. The senior adjudicator monitors the progression of each applicant assignment cycle ensuring candidate personal history statements are submitted in the case management system. The senior adjudicator reviews all disposition reports completed by adjudicators and make the final suitability determination. The senior adjudicator ensures that all applicant profiles have been properly closed in the appropriate databases upon case closure. The senior adjudicator oversees the creation of approved applicant packets before Law Enforcement Agency Assessment Centers. The senior adjudicator conducts quality control of work products and prepares reports on productivity and cases processed. The senior adjudicator must have the ability to work directly with cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables are completed within the scope by the established deadline. The senior adjudicator serves as the single interface between the adjudicative team and agency regarding case distribution and suitability determinations. The senior adjudicator must provide exemplary customer service skills. As the primary customer interface, must be able to listen to and understand customer expectations and concerns, assure the customer that the project is being executed effectively, and have a sense of urgency in completing customer requests. Qualifications Must have five (5) or more years of adjudicative and investigative support with and no less than two (2) years of experience as a Background Investigator, Criminal Investigator, Security Specialist or Adjudicator with a federal agency, police department, recognized private contractor or military related training specializing in background investigations. Must be able to successfully obtain a favorably adjudicated full-scope background investigation (Public Trust), to include a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint check, prior to start. The client may request confirmation of these credentials at any time. (US Citizenship required). Must have successfully completed training from approved or recognized training program (e.g. Federal Background Investigator Training Program (FBITP), local law enforcement training or Reid School). Must provide customer service and serve as liaisons with insurance companies claim services, claimants, policyholders, agents, counterparts in other departments, external legal professionals, external medical professionals, financial institutions, government/regulatory agencies, potential customers, vendors, and suppliers as necessary to perform assigned tasks under the contract. Must have the ability to conduct investigatory interviews. Must have the ability to conduct investigations requiring a high degree of skill for varied personnel security investigations and work to ensure suitability for employment based upon established suitability guidelines. Must be able to determine the information or evidence required to reach a judgement and best approach to obtain that information. Must be able to gather background data, including the initiation of credit and criminal checks, and draft a report of findings for investigative cases. Must be able to prepare a wide variety of complex documents, memorandums and/or reports that summarize the evidence which includes formal analyses, investigative results, and recommendations for disposition of each case. Must be knowledgeable about all applicable fraud statutes, local, state, and federal, to ensure duties and assignments are carried out within the requirements of applicable law and client expectations.
