We are partnered with a leading global investment management firm (a mega fund) that operates internationally with hundreds of employees across key financial centers. Its investments span public and private debt and equity securities, direct investments in private companies, and real estate.

Position: Senior Hedge Fund Manager / Hedge Fund Controller
Overview:
This is a critical senior-level role responsible for leading a 10–12 person accounting team and overseeing the close processes for both multi-strategy hedge funds and a number of specialized investment funds. The position reports to the Global Controller and plays a key part in fund accounting for the firm’s significant assets under management. If you will require relocation, this firm is willing and able to provide meaningful support for you.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead and manage the fund accounting team responsible for multiple fund structures, including both share class and partnership-based hedge funds.
+ Review accounting closes and financial reporting deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
+ Partner with internal stakeholders across Tax, Legal, Operations, and Investor Relations.
+ Provide mentorship and technical guidance to staff while cultivating a high-performance team culture.
+ Communicate complex fund accounting issues clearly and effectively to senior leadership.
+ Drive key initiatives focused on operational improvement, process re-engineering, and digital transformation.
+ Maintain a hands-on approach to leadership—reviewing work, offering feedback, and ensuring high-quality output.
Requirements
Candidate Profile:
+ A problem solver with a collaborative approach and the ability to work independently.
+ Highly detail-oriented with deep expertise in fund accounting and operational leadership.
+ Possesses an entrepreneurial mindset and embraces innovation and change.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders across functions and levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 15+ years of relevant accounting experience in the hedge fund or investment management industry.
+ Expertise in Advent Geneva is strongly preferred.
+ Professional designation (CPA, CFA, or equivalent) required or strongly preferred.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Power Query skills a plus.
+ In-depth understanding of hedge fund structures, accounting rules, and industry best practices.
+ Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to "own" and run a function.
+ Experience working in a global, cross-functional team environment.
