Senior Accountant (REMOTE)

Job Title: Interim Senior Accountant

Job Description

An established, high-growth technology organization is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to support its accounting team during a critical period. You will focus on core accounting operations, monthly close activities, and general ledger responsibilities in a NetSuite and SaaS environment. This role is ideal for an accountant who thrives in a fast-paced setting, can quickly ramp up, and can independently add value during an interim engagement.

Responsibilities

Support the monthly close process by preparing accurate and timely journal entries and account reconciliations.Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and conduct variance analysis to explain key movements.Assist with the preparation of financial reporting and internal management reporting to support decision-making.Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of accounting records within NetSuite.Support revenue and expense recognition in accordance with GAAP and core accounting principles.Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues, reconcile data discrepancies, and clarify financial information.Provide audit support and maintain appropriate documentation to facilitate internal and external audit requests.Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of accounting best practices during the interim period.Contribute to general ledger activities, ensuring accounts are properly maintained and aligned with company policies.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.2+ years of professional accounting experience.Hands-on NetSuite experience (required).Experience working in a SaaS or subscription-based business environment (strongly preferred).Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.Proven experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and database functions.Experience with general ledger management and financial reporting.Ability to quickly ramp up, work independently, and deliver results in an interim capacity.Experience supporting audits and preparing audit documentation.Familiarity with revenue and expense recognition in a SaaS or subscription-based model.Strong analytical skills to perform variance analysis and interpret financial results.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve accounting issues.Demonstrated initiative in identifying and supporting process improvements and best practices.

The accounting team relies heavily on NetSuite as the primary ERP system and uses Excel, including pivot tables and database tools, for analysis and reporting. The role centers on a fast-paced monthly close cycle, general ledger activities, and ongoing financial reporting, where the ability to work independently and adapt quickly is essential. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
