National Veterinary Associates (NVA™) is the largest private owner of freestanding veterinary hospitals in the United States. NVA owns over 1,000 companion animal veterinary hospitals and boarding facilities worldwide. Our mission is to improve the comfort and well-being of patients by providing progressive and compassionate veterinary care. We are looking to add another strong member to the NVA team to help sustain our rapid growth. Under the direction of the Inventory Accounting Manager and as a member of the overall Accounting Team, the Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for performing review and performance of various accounting, financial, and other administrative tasks to support the accounting team.
As a member of the Finance / Accounting Team, the Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for performing various accounting functions, financial analysis, and other ad-hoc tasks to support management. 
Job Tasks:Assist with DVM Labor Analyses for VP of Accounting and CFOPrepare month-end close related journal entriesDevelop and implement accounting/analysis procedures by examining current procedures, recommending changesPrepare monthly bank reconciliations including transactions from up to 5 payroll systemsPrepare and book intercompany journal entriesPrepare balance sheet reconciliationsPrepare yearly audit schedules for external auditorsAssist with maintenance and preparation of DVM production accrualsAssist in other ad-hoc analysis or analytics as neededOccasional overtime may be required, particularly during month-end close and audit periods
Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics, or a Bachelor’s degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting/Finance required4+ years’ experience in accounting or related field Experience working in a large corporate environment or similarly complex organizational structure Intermediate understanding of GAAPAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, nested functions, data validation, and large dataset manipulationExtensive experience working with high-volume, complex financial data—ability to organize, analyze, and draw insights from large and dynamic data sets efficiently and accuratelyStrong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reportingExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders

Compensation: The annual compensation range for the position is between $85,000 - $98,500
