Senior Accountant - MPS Controlling

Mastercard Payment Services (MPS) powers next-generation payment solutions, from real-time payments and e-invoicing to open banking, across the Nordics and beyond. As part of the controllership team, reporting to the Controller for MPS, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to high-impact global projects, gain international exposure, and grow your career in a dynamic environment.

About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will be part of a collaborative team, receiving guidance and support while building expertise across a wide range of accounting and controllership activities. This role offers hands-on experience, exposure to international projects, and the chance to shape the financial backbone of a fast-evolving payments business.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across the globe, including our shared service centre in India and Colombia, Corporate Controllership in the US and the Tax team in the UK and Belgium.

What you will do
•\tParticipate in month-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
•\tAssist in preparing and reviewing financial statements for the Nordic markets.
•\tPartner with the shared service centre to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
•\tSupport audits (external and internal) and compliance activities (e.g. SOX).
•\tProvide input on accounting areas such as revenue recognition, capitalisation, and impairments.
•\tContribute to intercompany, treasury, and regulatory/statistical reporting activities.
•\tParticipate in process improvements and continuous enhancement of our controllership framework.
•\tCollaborate with international teams and business partners across functions and regions.

What you bring
•\tBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is mandatory.
•\tChartered Accountant or CPA qualification preferred.
•\tExperience in accounting, controlling, or audit, Big4 background is highly valued.
•\tKnowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP or IFRS).
•\tStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively in international teams.
•\tAnalytical mindset, proactive problem solver, eager to grow in a dynamic environment.
•\tIndustry knowledge (payments/financial services) is a plus.
