Description Senior Accountant - Energy and Metals Our client a gloabl trader of physical energy and metals is adding to their Trade reporting team. This position is on the trading floor and focuses on the monthly accounting / reporting of their trading teams. In this role, you will oversee trade accounting, inventory reconciliation, and ensure the accuracy of financial data related to commodities and derivatives. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and a passion for delivering precise financial insights. Responsibilities: • Oversee trade accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Reconcile trading system data with accounting records to maintain accurate financial reporting. • Analyze and reconcile inventory data related to commodities transactions. • Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses to support decision-making. • Monitor and evaluate derivative accounting practices to ensure adherence to regulatory standards. • Support audits by providing accurate documentation and explanations of accounting entries. • Assist in the development and implementation of efficient accounting procedures and controls. Requirements Requirements: • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with inventory exposure. • Knowledge of derivative accounting is a plus. • Proficiency in inventory analysis and reconciliation processes. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. • BS in Accounting is required.
