Summary
This role is part of Regional Controlling organization and is critical in ensuring compliance with US GAAP, statutory and tax requirements in country in scope. The role requires understanding of accounting matters, quick problem-solving skills and strong collaboration with other finance and non-finance teams.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Oversee the day to day accounting as maintained by local accounting firms within various Baxter entities.
Run Month, quarter and year End close processes for entities within scope, managed locally and via shared services.
Ensure proper account reconciliations.
Ensure USGAAP accounting compliance
Ensure statutory compliance of entities within scope including Statutory FS and Audit, Tax return and other Tax submissions.
Support monthly/quarterly/annual close processes and work closely with Regional Controllership teams.
Ensure adherence of processes to company's policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations; support strengthening of financial processes and controls.
Support local, regional, and global projects, as required.
Maintain focus on continuous process improvement.
Required education and/or experience:
Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience.
Proven experience in a multinational environment and/or audit.
Strong Problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, diplomatic, flexible and “can do” mind-set.
Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Strong reporting tools including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Nice to have: good knowledge of US GAAP.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or part qualified ACCA/CIMA.
Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required.
Experience in JDE, Blackline and W-Desk is an advantage.
Additional hours at critical times (e.g., month-end) may be required. Also, and on an exceptional basis, the role may require work on public holidays.
