Senior Accountant
**Description** **The Best Teams are Created and Maintained Here.** **Job Summary** + The Sr Accountant performs monthly close tasks including preparing and booking journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, and assisting in account analyses. **Duties and Responsibilities:** + Perform monthly close tasks including preparing and booking journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, and assisting in account analyses + Serve as the accounting owner of several corporate departments and conduct monthly meetings with functional leads to assess budget to actual performance + Initiate and lead special projects for process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance + Act as a liaison to segment controllers + Assist with company implementation of new accounting and reporting requirements + Identify complex accounting issues, research solutions, and prepare resolutions + Provide accounting support for special transactions + Interact with independent public accountants on accounting and reporting matters + Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls + Support the Corporate Accounting Department with ad hoc requests **Education and Experience:** + Bachelor’s degree in accounting + CPA strongly preferred + 3-5 years of experience – public accounting and/or GL accounting experience strongly preferred + Public company experience preferred + Action oriented; thrives in a dynamic environment; takes initiative to identify and resolve issues + Precise, deadline-driven team member with strong organizational and project management skills + Strong analytical skills; strategic thinker + High level of proficiency in Excel to perform spreadsheet and financial analysis + JD Edwards, OneStream, and ASC 842 Lease Accounting experience a plus **Physical Demands/Requirements:** + Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, a cell phone, and printers/copiers + Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of time + Operates in an office environment and requires in-person presence + Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur **Work Environment:** + Work is conducted in a professional office environment, with a collaborative and dynamic team setting and requires in-person presence **_BrightView Landscapes, LLC is an Equal Opportunity and E-Verify Employer._** **_This job description is subject to change at any time._** **_BrightView offers a suite or health, wellness, and financial benefits to full-time team members.
