Senior Accountant
Accountant - Higher Education Description Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and GASB Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Oversee accounting for restricted and unrestricted funds, including grants, endowments, and capital projects Ensure compliance with federal, state, and sponsor regulations (e.g., OMB Uniform Guidance) Support annual audits and regulatory reporting; serve as a key audit liaison Collaborate with departments on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures Mentor junior accounting staff and provide technical guidance Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements Skills Accounts receivable, Accounting, Reconciliation Top Skills Details Accounts receivable Additional Skills & Qualifications BvA - Banner or Workday ERP experience - Gravity by ClearGov experience (software for financial reporting, leases, SBITAs) - Strong excel analysis & reconciliations skills Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Norfolk, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $53.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
